Abena Amory
Abena Amory, daughter of acclaimed vocalist Ms. Jacqueline Erlene Williams-King and the revered late Honorable Vance Amory, Former Premier of Nevis, was immersed in music from her earliest days. Surrounded by a rich tapestry of melody and rhythm, her path in music was shaped by her family's deep-rooted legacy.
Her journey as a singer and songwriter began amidst the vibrant sounds of her mother’s hometown in St. Vincent and blossomed further during her formative years in New York City.
From there, her voice became a beacon, captivating audiences across the United States. Abena has performed with esteemed ensembles, including Raymond Trapp and the Voices of Praise, gracing iconic venues such as Grand Central Station and earning accolades at prestigious events like the McDonald's Gospel Fest.
Her versatility shone brightly as she joined the Soca-focused BQE Band, captivating audiences at Carnival celebrations and major events in New York, Miami, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
As a member of the gospel choir I.M.A.G.E., she elevated souls with celestial harmonies and unwavering devotion. Her talent has supported legends like Alston "Becket" Cyrus, King Short Shirt, Mighty Sparrow, and Sir Frankie McIntosh. Her moving renditions of the national anthems of St. Kitts and Nevis and St. Vincent and the Grenadines at countless charitable events in New York have further cemented her role as a beloved ambassador of Caribbean culture.
In February 2023, Abena released the reggae love song "Your Love" to a live audience in Brooklyn—marking a turning point in her musical journey. She soon followed up with a sultry duet, "Toxic Love" featuring Dejour, released in June 2024. That same month, she headlined the 10th Anniversary of the Nevis Mango Festival, delivering a spellbinding performance and releasing her soulful rendition of "Breezy."
In June 2025, Abena reached another milestone: a stunning performance at the St. Kitts Music Festival on June 28th, where she shared the stage with icons like Jennifer Hudson, Romain Virgo, and Christopher Martin. Her presence, artistry, and charisma proved she belonged among such legends, proudly representing St. Kitts and Nevis. She was also invited back as the headliner for the Nevis Music Festival 2025, following the tremendous impact of her previous performance.
Now, with the release of her latest single, “FYI Love U,” Abena continues to impress. The track, rich with emotion and truth, showcases her vocal range and storytelling depth, further solidifying her position as one of the Caribbean’s rising stars. Beyond the stage, Abena is a dynamic public health professional and certified Birth Doula, with over a decade of experience advocating for maternal health, violence prevention, and health equity. Certified through DONA International, she provides holistic, trauma-informed care to expectant families, centering reproductive justice and empowerment. As a trained Pregnancy and Infant Loss (PAIL) Advocate, she supports families navigating grief and healing after loss.
Abena is also a published author, having co-authored a chapter in Black Girl Magic Beyond the Hashtag. She holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Sciences from SUNY Downstate, is a recipient of the Dr. Mahfouz H. Zaki Memorial Award for Maternal & Child Health, and has presented nationally at conferences including the National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs (NNHVIP).
Her dedication to service and philanthropy is unwavering. A proud supporter of the Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS), she has donated musical drums and laptops to support students in St. Kitts and Dominica, ensuring access to education and creative expression. She also leads ongoing efforts to provide diapers, baby clothing, and essential supplies to young mothers and families in need across New York City and St. Kitts and Nevis. Through fundraising and grassroots outreach, she uplifts those experiencing hardship, embodying a spirit of compassion and community care.
Empowering young women and youth is central to Abena’s mission. Whether through music, mentorship, advocacy, or direct service, she creates spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
